Helping more than 70 children in just seven days

The Overseas Plastic Surgery Appeal (OPSA) is a registered charity that provides free surgery procedures to underprivileged children and young adults.

The operations are mainly to correct cleft lip and palate, but they also include other deformities such as on the hands and burns.

Cleft lip and palate cases are especially common in India and Pakistan due to the lack of welfare state. That means that if a patient cannot pay for treatments themselves, they go untreated and live with these deformities for the rest of their lives.

The OPSA trustees have been involved in registered charitable relief work since 1998.

In 2003, the group formed OPSA, which aims to make overseas visits at least twice a year.
